1. Website food and tiffin orders are pickup requests
Website orders are for pickup from 85B John St S, Hamilton, ON L8N 2C2. The cart may contain eligible restaurant food, one-time pickup tiffins, or both. Submitting the cart sends one combined request for restaurant review.
The first page and email confirm receipt only; they do not guarantee availability, confirm the pickup time, or mean preparation has started. The order is accepted when the restaurant sends an acceptance or updated-order email and the secure status page shows it as confirmed.
Doorstep tiffin delivery and monthly tiffin plans may be shown on the website for comparison, but they are arranged separately with the restaurant and are not part of pickup checkout unless the selected plan explicitly says “Pickup” and has an Add Pickup Tiffin button.
The Unlimited Gujarati Thali can be added to pickup checkout only at the posted takeout price. Unlimited refills apply to dine-in service and do not apply to takeout.
2. Availability and restaurant review
Staff review menu and pickup-tiffin availability, quantities, selected menu options, the single overall order-instructions field, contact information, tax, total, and pickup timing before acceptance. An unavailable item or tiffin may be removed. Staff may call to discuss a substitution, additional item, quantity increase, customization change, or other adjustment.
The system requires staff to record customer authorization before adding an item, increasing a quantity, changing a customization, or increasing the total. The final accepted order and amount replace the submitted estimate.
3. Restaurant-confirmed pickup time, Sunday scheduling, and ready notification
The customer does not select the final pickup time before the restaurant reviews the order. Staff check availability and kitchen workload, then set the confirmed pickup time during acceptance. The acceptance email and secure order-status page provide the confirmed time.
Sunday’s Special items are available for Sunday pickup only. Before Sunday, the website may display the exact upcoming Sunday and allow an advance request for that date. When a Sunday’s Special is added before Sunday, the complete cart is scheduled for that Sunday. Staff must keep the service date on Sunday, set the exact Sunday pickup time during review, and should not begin preparation before that service date.
On Sunday, Sunday’s Special items may be requested for same-day pickup while available. A ready-for-pickup email is sent when staff mark the order ready. Please bring the order number and provide the customer name when collecting the order. Pickup times remain estimates and delays may occur.
4. Payment and receipt
No online payment is taken. The accepted total, including configured Ontario HST, is payable at the restaurant when the order is collected. No website tip is added. The restaurant’s in-store payment system provides the payment receipt after payment.
A request-received or acceptance email is an order record, not a payment receipt.
5. Customer-requested changes and cancellation
Call +1 (905) 522-1555 as soon as possible to request a change or cancellation. Email alone may not be seen before preparation. Changes or cancellation are not guaranteed after acceptance or preparation begins.
Because no website payment is collected, a cancellation before in-store payment normally does not require an online refund. If payment was separately collected at the restaurant, any adjustment is handled through the restaurant’s in-store payment process and applicable consumer rights.
6. Restaurant rejection or cancellation
The restaurant may reject or cancel a request when an item is unavailable, contact information is invalid, the customer cannot be reached about a necessary change, the restaurant is closed, timing cannot be accommodated, an instruction may be unsafe, there is suspected fraud or abuse, or a technical or operational problem prevents fulfilment.
When possible, the customer receives an email explaining that the request was not accepted. No online payment is taken.
7. Late pickup and uncollected food
Prepared food should be collected promptly for quality and food safety. Contact the restaurant if you will be late. We cannot guarantee the original temperature, texture, or quality after a substantial delay.
Repeated uncollected or abusive orders may result in future website requests being restricted, declined, or requiring additional verification.
8. Order accuracy at pickup
Review the accepted order email and, where practical, check the packaged order at pickup. Report a missing or incorrect item promptly so staff can investigate. Keep the in-store payment receipt and order number.
Food that has been consumed, substantially altered, improperly stored, or reported after an unreasonable delay may be difficult to verify. Any correction, replacement, credit, or refund is assessed according to the facts and applicable law.
9. Allergies and dietary requirements
Shivshakti is a pure vegetarian restaurant, but the kitchen is not represented as allergen-free. Ingredients and shared preparation areas may involve dairy, wheat/gluten, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soy, mustard, and other allergens.
Do not rely only on the overall order-instructions field for a severe allergy, celiac disease, medically important intolerance, or other significant dietary restriction. Call the restaurant before submitting the request. Staff may decline an order or customization that cannot be prepared with reasonable confidence.
10. Order communications and secure links
Customers may receive request-received, accepted or edited-order, rejection or cancellation, and ready-for-pickup emails. Delivery of email cannot be guaranteed. The secure order-status link contains access capability and should not be forwarded.
11. Contact
For changes, cancellations, allergies, late pickup, or order concerns, call +1 (905) 522-1555. For non-urgent written questions, email contact@shivshkti.com.
